     EDUSAT Schedule
EDUSAT is the satellite exclusively devoted to meet the demands of educational sector. It was launched on September20, 2004 by Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) to meet ever increasing demand for an interactive satellite-based distance education system for the country. It has revolutionized classroom teaching through IP based technology. EDUSAT has five KU band transponders providing spot beams, one KU beam transponder providing national beam and six extended C-band transponders providing national coverage beams.

A project in collaboration with ISRO & UGC-CEC, the Centre provides an opportunity to the teachers and the students to contribute and share their knowledge under one roof in the form of Virtual Classroom.

The virtual classroom functions through EDUSAT. Teachers, from far off places can interact live with students through video conferencing. The students reap the benefits without being present physically in the classroom. 68 Satellite Interactive Terminals (SITs) and Receive Only Terminals (ROTs) are installed across the country for the above-mentioned project.

 Students can also enjoy the facility to choose a subject and the expert, to deliver a lecture. under the facility of ‘Lecture on Demand’.
